Methodology of e-learning archaeology

Existing solutions regarding methods of a distance e-learning course in the internet environment in relation to the character and expectations of the target group had led to the proposal of modelling and conducting the didactic process in the course Archaeological Heritage in Contemporary Europe with the following characteristics:
- web-based training (WBT) - training is intended to be conducted in the internet environment for the general accessibility of this medium,
- facilitated e-learning - the didactic process is conducted on the basis of didactic contents delivered in electronic form as multimedia and interactive e-learning courses. The role of teacher is limited to supporting the didactic process and activating trainees. The model assures the homogeneous level of the instruction thanks to aggregated content in the form of e-learning courses and flexible accessibility of the course participants,
- multimedia and interactive e-learning courses – interactive didactic contents organized in such a manner that give the possibility of the replacement of traditional interactions between the teacher and the trainee,
- a lack of traditional  meetings - no possibility of organizing face-to-face meetings due to geographical dispersion and the large workload of the target group,
- asynchronous mode of communication – provides the trainee with the opportunity to work in any time and place,
- discussion forum -  gives the possibility to exchange opinion among trainees and trainers.

These methodological solutions can easily be applied in any distance learning training assuming it is similar to the Archaeological Heritage in Contemporary Europe course. They can be further modified and upgraded taking into consideration needs of the target group and characteristic features of the training.
